Merry Christmas To All Our Readers

To your enemy, forgiveness.

To an opponent, tolerance.

To a friend, your heart.

To a customer, service.

To all, charity.

To every child, a good example.

To yourself, respect.

Some stuff and a bit of nonsense to help see out 2011

The cuts to the special effects budget were biting deep

btw an old CDR makes a great car windscreen scraper.  I find "I can see clearly now" by Johnny Nash works best.

JOKE What's the starting Salary?
At the end of a job interview, the HR manager asked the young graduate, "And what starting salary were you looking for?"
The graduate replied, "Around £40,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."
The HR manager said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 7-weeks paid holidays, full medical and dental care, company matching pension fund to 50% of salary, and a company car, it's usually a BMW for starters if that's ok?"
The graduate said, "Wow!!! Are you kidding?"
"Well yes, ...but you started it!"

It's not a trifling matter

As a child I thought the lyrics to The Wombles song went, "The Wombles have wimbled and coming are we."  Never understood what wimbling was .....

Ah. I remember the warm Spanish sun

Printing is not just about getting ink onto paper

A short Print Management post by Irongate Group ...

Don't Buy Print if you care about the Environment!

Demand It!

Are you sickened by the waste associated with obsolescence and overprinting?

How about no more costly overruns. No more out-of-date materials. Just the marketing you need, quickly and efficiently.

Quite simply, print on demand gives organisations the flexibility to order their print as and when it’s needed, in the exact quantity required, thus negating the need to stock large volumes of print.

Industry studies show an estimated 30% of printed material becomes outdated and ultimately gets thrown out. But the beauty of on-demand printing coupled with the powerful customisation features of our iCu MarketingResource Centre ensures your marketing messages; in brochures, flyers, corporate stationery and even point-of-sale materials; are always bang up to date and relevant.

The benefits for your business:
• Only order what you need, when you need it
• No need for excessive stocks
• Reduced print costs and storage charges
• No minimum order quantities
• No out-of-date collateral so no print waste
• Keep documents relevant
• Enables a quicker route to market and reaction to market conditions through fast    turnaround times (24-72 hours)
• Reduced production and less waste = lower carbon footprint

Social Media Rules Are Made To Be Broken

But only in the subject line

Hi.  If you are new to social media, like what I am (that's an Ernie Wise reference rather than poor grammar), and have started to look around cyberspace through Twitter, Facebook, Blogs .. etc etc STOP. This is getting boring and like every other blog you stumble across.

Ignore the rules, be yourself and go for it.

All I have to say right now is in the panel above.  Yes I want to add value and provide the resource that I hope this blog is becoming, but bottom line is, like you, I have something to sell.  And for me it is office products. Simple.  Hence the rather exceptional offer :-)

The funniest single WORD gag ever. Simple genius.

One To One Marketing

Adding the WOW factor to communications

Long gone are the days of a one dimensional, blanket approach to communications. With variable data digital printing we can take one to one marketing and personalisation to new levels of sophistication, delivering increases in response rates by as much as 30% over generic content printing.

The premise of one to one marketing is simple: by making your marketing materials more relevant and custom-tailored to the requirements of your target audiences, you have a much better chance of capturing their attention and driving a response.

And personalised content goes beyond merely printing the recipient’s name on a document. It is possible to customise each and every communication piece with different text, graphics, fonts, and even charts and tables to capture attention. Using the data you have collected about your customers’ preferences and priorities, you can target individuals with the right message at the right time. As a result they are far more likely to remember you and your products and when designed effectively, variable data printing will result in a tangible increase in your response rates and return on investment.

Image Personalisation

Image personalisation can dramatically improve response rates to direct marketing by creating unique, personalised photographic images which instantly capture a recipient’s attention. Personalised images enable tailored messaging to be integrated within photography enabling the development of marketing materials that are both intriguing and personal. Working from either a library of images or from a custom application created out of any suitable photograph, your data is integrated to create communications with personalised images that cut through mass media.
